Data analysis

Clear answers to the questions that matter, from data you already have.

You already have more data than you use: in your shop, your ad accounts, your CRM and your accounts. We bring it together, check it’s accurate and answer specific questions, like which customers are most profitable or which campaigns drive sales. You get a plain-English report with clear recommendations, once or every month or quarter.

Analysis or BI?

Answers now, or dashboards every day

  • Data analysis answers specific questions. You get a one-off or regular report with recommendations on what to do next.
  • Business intelligence builds always-on dashboards that update themselves, so your team can see the numbers every day.

Many businesses start with analysis, then turn the figures they check most often into a dashboard.

What we do

Platforms we work with

We take data from GA4, Shopify, WooCommerce, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. We analyse it in Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, Python or R, and show it in Looker Studio or Power BI. When data needs a central home, we use BigQuery, Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric. We recommend what suits your business, and explain why.

How we work

Audit, questions, clean, analyse, recommend

01

Free audit

We look at the data you have and the decisions you’re facing. It’s free.

02

Agree the questions

We agree in writing what you need to know, and the price. Bigger projects start with a fixed-price data audit.

03

Collect and clean

We bring the data together and check it’s accurate before we use it.

04

Analyse

We answer the agreed questions, and check our findings with your team.

05

Report and recommend

A plain-English report with clear next steps. Repeat it monthly or quarterly, or turn it into a dashboard.

Done properly

Good analysis depends on trust: in the numbers, and in how we handle your data. This is what we design around:

  • UK GDPR: we agree a clear purpose for each dataset before we use it, and only use personal data in ways that fit that purpose.
  • Data minimisation: we only take the data each question needs, and leave out personal details wherever the answer doesn’t depend on them.
  • Secure access: named accounts, read-only wherever possible, and our access removed when the work ends.
  • Anonymised or aggregated reporting: reports show groups and totals rather than named people wherever possible.
  • Your data stays yours: it stays in your systems and accounts, and we don’t keep copies after the work ends.

We’re not lawyers. We work carefully, and tell you when you need specialist advice. More detail: Data audit and cleansing and Data warehousing.

Questions

What’s the difference between data analysis and business intelligence?

Data analysis answers specific questions, once or on a regular schedule, and ends with recommendations. Business intelligence builds always-on dashboards that update themselves. See Business intelligence.

Where do we start?

With a free audit. We look at the data you have and the decisions you’re facing, and tell you which questions to answer first.

Our data is a mess. Is that a problem?

It’s normal. We check and clean it before we use it, and fix problems at the source. See Data audit and cleansing.

Who can see our data?

Only the people who need to. We use named accounts with read-only access wherever possible, report on groups rather than named people, and remove our access when the work ends.

Do we need a data warehouse?

Not always. Many questions can be answered from your existing systems and spreadsheets. We’ll tell you honestly if a warehouse would help. See Data warehousing.

Pricing: a free audit first. Bigger projects then start with a fixed-price data audit from £950 + VAT. One-off analysis from £750 + VAT, with the questions and price agreed upfront. Regular reports from £350 + VAT a month.
