Digital audit and roadmap

← All digital transformation services

A clear picture of your tools and processes today, and a step-by-step plan for what to change first.

What it is

Most growing businesses run on a mix of spreadsheets, inboxes and tools that don’t talk to each other. A digital audit looks at how work really gets done today, and where time and money leak out.

You get a roadmap: what to keep, what to replace, what to connect, and the order to do it in. Each step has a clear reason, a rough size and a named owner.

Who it’s for

Owners and managers who know things could run better but aren’t sure where to start, and teams facing a deadline such as Making Tax Digital.

What’s included

  • Free audit: a first look at your main tools and the problems you want solved.
  • Discovery (fixed price): interviews with your team, a map of your key processes and a review of your systems and data.
  • Tools review: what you pay for, what you use and where the same information is typed in twice.
  • Risks and deadlines: security gaps, data protection and tax deadlines that affect you.
  • Roadmap: changes ranked by impact and effort, in a sensible order.
  • Playback: we walk you through the findings and answer your questions.

What you get

  • A map of your key processes
  • A list of your tools, with what to keep, replace or connect
  • A ranked roadmap with rough sizes
  • A summary of risks and deadlines
  • A playback session with your team

What we measure

  • Hours spent on manual work each week
  • Information typed in more than once
  • Software spend versus use
  • Roadmap steps completed
  • Deadlines met

Done properly

  • Making Tax Digital for Income Tax: mandatory since 6 April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000. The threshold drops to over £30,000 from April 2027 and over £20,000 from April 2028. These phases apply to sole traders and landlords, not limited companies.
  • Making Tax Digital for VAT: already applies to all VAT-registered businesses, including limited companies.
  • E-invoicing: becomes mandatory for UK VAT invoices from April 2029, with a roadmap due in the 2026 Budget. The detailed rules aren’t published yet, so we focus on getting you ready: systems that can send and receive e-invoices when the rules land.

Questions

Why pay for discovery if the audit is free?

The free audit is a quick first look. Discovery is a detailed review with your team, so the roadmap and any prices are based on facts, not guesses.

Do we have to use you for the changes?

No. The roadmap is yours. We’re happy to deliver it, but you can use it with anyone.

How long does it take?

Usually 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the size of your business and how quickly we can speak to your team.

What if our data is a mess?

That’s normal. We’ll show you what to tidy first. See Data audit and cleansing.

Pricing: a free audit first, then a fixed-price discovery from £1,500 + VAT, with the roadmap included.

Delivered by: in-house by Studios 6.
